TOUBKAL & THE HIGH ATLAS

A remote trek in the beautiful High Atlas mountains of Morocco,
including an ascent of Mt Toubkal
This circular trek into the High Atlas discovers rarely visited
peaks, passes and valleys. As we cross into the Atlas range we see
both the northern slopes and superb vistas of the Sahara to the
south. Our campsites are wild and scenic, hidden in high valleys,
nestled against glacial lakes or close to traditional Berber villages
which see few Europeans. We finish with an optional ascent of North
Africa's highest mountain, Mt Toubkal (4167m). After the trek we
return to Marrakech to cool off in its pleasant gardens or enter
the souk for some last minute bargaining.
Itinerary
Day 1 Fly to Marrakech.
Day 2 Transfer to Atlas mountains, walk to Arroumd.
Day 3 - 4 Over Tizi Mzic and through uninhabited valleys to Tizi
'n' Tikent.
Day 5 - 6 Head through gorge of Assif Aguerda to Agoundis Valley.
Day 7 - 8 Through summer pastures to Tizi 'n' Tifira; descend to
Saharan side of High Atlas.
Day 9 - 11 Trek by Lac d'Ifni; climb to Tizi Ouanoums.
Day 12 Day ascent of Mt Toubkal.
Day 13 Transfer to fascinating city of Marrakech.
Day 14 Free day to explore.
Day 15 Fly to London.
