Day 1. San Jose Hotel San Gildar.
Located at 1149m above sea level, maintaining an average all year
round temperature of 24°C and home to the main museums and cultural
centres: the Gold, Jade, National, Contemporary Art and Children's
museum. Also the architectural jewel of Costa Rica The National
Theatre, built in 1897 through a self-imposed coffee tax and reflecting

Day 2. Trogon Lodge (4 to 5 hours)
Trogon Lodge is a farm of 105 acres, located at an altitude of
700 ft (2200mtrs) above sea level near El Cerro de la Muerte. This

wanting to get away from it all. The cozy and relaxing ambiance

The clean waters of the Savegre River run through the property with

Day 3. San Gerardo de Dota. Trogon Lodge.
Free day at leisure to hike the trails or take a guided, optional
tour.
Days 4, 5 & 6. Manuel Antonio National Park Hotel California
(4 hours).
Drive by car. Enjoy a tropical rainforest lodge in a secluded setting.

Days 7 & 8. Arenal Volcano, Arenal Springs Hotel (6 hours).
A beautiful ride through mountains and typical small villages.
Arenal volcano is the most active volcano in Costa Rica and with
some luck you might be able to observe the red lava. This almost
perfect cone, which soars 1,633 metres above sea level has a crater
140 metres deep formed over an ancient caldera. The best spot to
enjoy these wonders are Tabacon Hot Springs (not included) a veritable
thermal wonderland, where a hot volcanic stream is channeled in
five pools of varying temperature.

Day 9. Monteverde Cloud Forest, Trapp Family Lodge. Superior
Room. (4 to 5 hours).
Enjoy one of the most enchanting and overwhelming experiences inside
the cloud forest. There are nature trails that will guide you through
this breath-taking journey. You may want to get up early to visit
the cloud forest. A walk through the misty wood is a magical experience.
The huge forest is overgrown with bromeliads, orchids, ferns, deer
horns as well as moss and the beautiful red-green feathered quetzal
breeds here. Founded in the 1950's by a group of Quakers from the
U.S., Monteverde has gained international renown as one of the most
outstanding wildlife sanctuaries in the tropics. The reserve spreads
out over 10,500 hectares of land that hold six different life zones.
The climate and terrain of the preserve produce an incredible bio-diversity.
There are at least 400 bird species in this high elevation rain
forest, including the Resplendent Quetzal, ancient holy bird of
the Mayans, over 100 species of mammals, 120 species of amphibians
and reptiles and an estimated 2,500 species of plants making Monteverde
a true "nature lover's paradise". Delicate orchids, more
than 400 species, grace the limbs of majestic trees. Their captivating
colors of whites, lilacs, and yellows contrast with the emerald
green of the forest.

Day 11, 12 & 13. Tamarindo. Hotel Tamarindo Diria. Sunset
