Galapagos Boats. Here are details of some of the boats we work with in the Galapagos Islands. When choosing a boat there are several factors to bear in mind: Length of cruise - the usual cruise lasts a week and this gives time to visit most of the interesting places. Shorter 5 and 3 day cruises are possible, but people usually regret not taking longer. Start day - boats start on every day of the week, so it is always possible to fit your schedule. However, if you want to book a particular boat, that day has to be built into your itinerary. Availability - many boats are booked months ahead, and so in reality there is often not much choice. Standard - the boats are graded tourist, tourist plus, first class and deluxe. A higher grade gives you larger cabins, better food, more deck space and usually better guides. The prices for a week vary from around £700 to £3000 for deluxe. Itinerary - all the boats will visit lots of interesting places and there is little difference in the itineraries. If you want to visit a particular place, check to see that it is included. Joining - all the cruises start from Baltra, reached by a flight from Quito. The boat dock is near to the airstrip and a shuttle transfer is provided.
