A SUPERB COMBINATION OF TREKKING, CULTURE AND WILDLIFE.
This superb short trek passes through the Kingdom of Gaddi, a semi
nomadic race who spend many months wandering the high pastures with
their sheep, Trek offers splendid views of the Daula Dhar mountain
Range, trekking through the mountain villages with terraced fields,
dense mixed forests of oak, rathoundeodren, pine and bamboo, offering
some of the best camping spots through out the trek, the rivers
and streams together with mixed forest offer some fine bird-watching.
The journey also offers visit to the H.H. Dalai Lama's monastery
and residence, Paragpur (a heritage village) Amritsar ( Pool of
Nectar) and Shahjahan's Fabled Taj Mahal at Agra.
Best time: Mid March to Mid June & ending September to Mid
December.
Physical challenge: Moderate over all, some steep ascends and descends.
Focus: Splendid Camp sites, Flora and Fauna, mountain views, Villages
and Buddhist monasteries.
Highest altitude: 3500mts.
Area: Dharamshla (Himachal Pradesh).
Duration: 14 Days.
Route: Delhi-Dharamshla (McLeodganj)- Kereri village- Bal- Laka
Got-Trund- Bhagsu-Dharamsala- Paragpur- Amritsar-Delhi-Agra- Delhi.
Day 1: Leave your country for New Delhi.
Day 2: Arrive Delhi:
Assistance on arrival and transfer to Pre-booked hotel, morning
free to re-charge. Afternoon guided tour of Old Delhi, visiting
the Red-fort and Chandni Chowk (Silver Marker). Breakfast.
Day 3: Delhi sightseeing/ overnight train to Pathankot.
After breakfast guided visit to New Delhi, visiting to India Gate,
Birla Temple and Humayun's Tomb, Late evening transfer again to
railway station for overnight train to Pathankot. (Today rooms are
available till 1200hrs). Breakfast and packed dinner,
Day 4: Arrive Pathankot- Transfer to Dharamhshala:
Assistance and transfer to Dharamsala ( McLeod Ganj/ 1750mts) about
3hrs. Arrive in hotel in time for Lunch. Afternoon time free. Evening
visit to the residence of H.H. Dalai lama and the atmospheric monastery.
Breakfast, Lunch, dinner.
Dharamsala: The hill station was established by the British between
1815 and 1847, but remained a minor town until H.H. Dalai Lama settled
here after Chinese invasion of Tibet in October 1959. There is an
obvious Tibetan influence in McLeodganj, with monasteries, Tibetan
restaurant and Tibetan and Himachalie shops.
Day 5: Dharamsala ( Mcleod Ganj)- Kareri / TREK BEGINS.
After early breakfast we begin our 14kms/7hrs trek. First few kms
are almost a gradually ascent and descent till Satobari village,
from hear we make a steep descend through dense pine forest to Ghere
village, we cross a small mountain stream over a wooden bridge a
perfect place for lunch. After lunch we make a steep ascent for
about 2hrs to the top of the ridge through the mixed forest, from
top ridge we have fine views of the valley below and another one
hours almost flat walk take us to Kareri village ( 2070mts), we
camp in a lovely meadow with Laund river, surrounded by rolling
hills and distant views of the mountain house with slate roofs.
Campfire and overnight. All meals
Day 6: Kereri- Bal ( 2330mts)
After early breakfast we continue our 7hrs trek initially a very
gradual ascent, through small bushes to a lovely mountain village,
experience the way of life by shearing a cup of Tea ( hot sweet
Chai) with the family, who will be very pleased and happy to host
you, the village also offers distant views of the Dauladar mountain
range, we continue through the open meadows and pine forest to another
village with lovely houses, and then descent through the valley
to a beautiful mountain stream ( people may wish to have dip here,
as the stream creates some beautiful pools), this is also a perfect
place for lunch, after lunch and some rest we begin our gradual
ascent for about one hour and then steep ascent through dense mixed
forest of bamboo, oak and pine to the col offering beautiful views
of the valley, from col it is another 30 min gradually ascent to
the Bal village (2330mts), we pass through the bal village along
the terraced fields to another beautiful camping place with gushing
river nearby and distant views of Camel peak ( 5300mts). Overnight
in tents. All meals.
Day 7: Bal - Laka Got( 3500mts/ about 9hrs)
After breakfast we cross the river over a suspension bridge and
then make a steep ascent through mixed forest of Rothundreadren
and pine for about 2hrs, the forest is heaven for bird watchers,
we come to a ridge where there is a small chai (Tea) shop, after
some rest we make a gradual ascend, whole path is flocked with the
gaddi tribal people taking their cattle to high pastures of Lak
and Triund, the trek offer fine views of grassy slope and the distant
views of Dharamsala. After having Lunch the views are opening up,
and now we are getting closer to Dhauladhar mountain range, we ascent
through a meadow with a small temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, and
then through the Oak forest to Laka Got, a perfect camping place
offering close-up views of the Dhuladhar mountains. Overnight in
tents. All meals.
Day 8: Laka Got ( 3500mts)- Rest day.
A perfect place of unwind, and explore the valley and its Glacier,
If people feel fit, we can make a ascent to Indrahar Pass ( 4350mts),
which offers spectacular views of Chamba Valley and distant views
of Pir Pangal range. Overnight in tents. All Meals.
Day 9: Laka Got to Triund (2985mts).
After leisurely breakfast we make a descent of about 3hrs through
the Oak forest to Triund Meadows offering fine views of the Dhauladhar
mountain range. Afternoon is spend free around the camp. Camp fire
and overnight in tents. All meals.
Day 10: Triund- Bhagsu Nag Village (1740mts/ about 5hrs trek) TREK
ENDS.
After breakfast we walk over a grassy ridge for about 4kms with
fine views of the valley below and the snowy peaks on other side,
after trekking for 4kms we star a steep descent trough the mixed
forest of Oak, Rothoundrend, and bamboo to small Bhagsu Nallaha
(Stream), cross the river by hoping over boulders to a small Chai
Shop and the father few kms gradual descent just below attractive
water fall, perfect place for lunch, after lunch we trek for another
30 min to Bhagsu Nag Village which has a lovely temple and natural
springs! Great for refreshing dip! Our jeeps will be waiting for
us to drive 2hrs/70kms to a delightful Heritage Hotel Judges court,
surrounded by only heritage village in India, Enjoy the views of
the distant Dauladar mountains. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 11: Paragpur- Amritsar ( about 4/5hrs drive).
After breakfast enjoy a guided walk through the heritage village,
return back for lunch and after lunch drive to Amritsar for overnight
in hotel. Breakfast and Lunch.
Day 12: Amritsar- Delhi ( by fast train).
Very early morning visit to the Golden Temple to see sunrise, and
dove ties offering morning prayers, return to hotel for breakfast,
Day free to explore the bazaar or re-visit the temple, Evening transfer
to the railway station for train to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and transfer
to the hotel for overnight. (Breakfast and dinner on board)
Day 13: Delhi- Agra- Delhi ( by train).
Early morning transfer to railway station for express train to Agra.
Arrive Agra and begin full day guided tour, visiting Taj Mahal,
Red Fort and Tomb of Itamau-din- Daula, and we will also have time
by savories, evening board return train to Delhi, in time to transfer
to the airport for your return flight. (Breakfast and dinner on
Board).
Day 14: Departure: Early morning fly back to your home country.

All arrival departure transfer, sightseeing and overland journey
by A/C Jeep/ Car / Mini Bus and in Hills by non A/C Transport.
Entrance fees as per the programme.
Local English speaking guide on sightseeing days ( Delhi/Agra/Paragpur/Dharamsala
and Amritsar).
Service of English speaking trekking guide.
All trekking arrangements like, alpine/dome style tents, toilet
tents, dinning tents with alpine chairs and table, Foam mattresses,
porters for luggage (Max 15 Kgs on trek), assistance on all arrival
and departure transfers.
Overnight train fare from Delhi to Pathankot in 2nd class A/C sleeper,
Amritsar to Delhi by A/c Chair car, and from Delhi/Agra/Delhi by
A/C Chair Car.

The best season to visit India is from October to April when
it is sunny and warm although temperatures can be low at night
during the winter. In the high mountains there is snow and
ice all year but a tropical climate prevails in the foothills.
Monsoon period is June until September.
