10 days trip with 4 nights in Kathmandu


A trip with plenty of differences for both family and friends!

Your fun filled adventure to discover as much of Nepal as possible in short time starts with a flight to the picturesque city of Pokhara. Commencing on what is popularly referred to as the "Royal Trek", named after the trail taken by the Prince of Wales you will pass through the Gurung villages of Kalikasthan, Syaklung and Chisapani before descending to Begnas lake.

A 45 km drive to the town of Damauli and you will be ready to take on the challenges of the Seti River. The word Seti, meaning white derives from the river's colour which is a result of its course through limestone deposits. The rapids are friendly and the river has stretches of shallow, still waters where swimming is possible.

Head into Nepal's Famous jungles at the Royal Chitwan National Park. Home to tigers, rhinos, sloth bears, leopards, crocodiles and over 400 species of birds, Chitwan offers you the classic safari. By day, venture into the jungle on elephant-back, on foot or by dugout to observe the abundant flora and fauna. Evenings are for sitting back to hearty meals and heartier stories from the jungles.

Transfer back to waiting vehicles by elephant, Land rover and dugout canoes for the return to Kathmandu.

Day 1 Upon arrival in Kathmandu you will be greeted by a representative and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 Free day in Kathmandu to make final preparations for your trek. If you feel that you are adequately prepared and would like to have an escorted sightseeing tour of Kathmandu city, we will be glad to arrange it for you. Please ask for this service from our representative upon arrival.

Day 3 Drive to airport for the flight to Pokhara. Meet your Sherpa Crew and drive to Bijayapur, the trailhead from where you will begin your trek. This is an easy trek and is named for the Prince the Of Wales who took this same trip when he visited Pokhara. Your first days camp is at Kalikasthan. There are very good mountain views all along the route.

Day 4 Trek for about three hours in the morning and stop for lunch which is served hot, but picnic style and then continue on to the charming Gurung village of Shyaklung and camp.

Day 5 Trek from Shyaklung to Chisopani which translates literally inot "cold water" and camp.

Day 6 From Chisopani descend to the Begnas Lake and then drive back to Pokhara and the Hotel.

Day 7 Today is the rest day. However, you can take a short hikes to Sarankot or Austrian Camp or just relax by the lake.

Day 8 Take a scenic drive of 2 hours to Damauli on the Pokhara-Kathmandu highway. You will be met by the rafting guide and briefed about the river safety. Then start the trip. Camp at Sharang Ghat.

Day 9 Get ready for the exciting day of rapids. You will encounter the a big rapid immediately you start this morning. This is also good day for the bird viewers. Lunch will be served before the confluence of Seti and Trishuli river. After the confluences, again go through an exciting rapid before the camp. Now you are on Trishuli River.

Day 10 Today the rivers widens and scenery is different. Most of the time you just float down to Devghat, passing through the Kaligandaki and Trishuli.

From here the waiting vehicle will take you to Royal Chitwan National Park. which is one of the Asia's richest and most spectacular wildlife sanctuaries. Upon arrival at the camp,you will be briefed about the activities in the park. The activates include wildlife
viewing on the elephant back, boat trips, jungle treks and bird watching excursions and slide shows on wildlife.

The wildlife of Chitwan is famous for the rare greater one-horned rhinoceros, royal Bengal tiger, several species of deer, sloth bears, leopard, the marsh mugger and gharial crocodiles and over 450 species of birds.

Day 11 In addition to its prime wildlife programmes, other activities at the jungle are walks to local villages and overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 12 A scenic 5 hours drive along the Trishuli River will bring you back to Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13 Today is the last opportunity for some shopping or sightseeing tour in Kathmandu before you leave for your home.

Day 14 Final Departure


SERVICES INCLUDED:
Transportation to start and from the end of trek to the city of departure, hotel in Kathmandu (B&B), two person tents including sleeping pads, porters, kitchen crew and commissary gear with all meals included on trek. Experienced local guide and support.

International flights - please ask for prices. Meals in the cities, alcoholic beverages, extras, tips, taxes, laundry service, additional tours, insurance, sleeping bags, hiking boots and other personal gear.

The best season to visit Nepal is from October to April when it is sunny and warm although temperatures in the lowlands can fall to freezing at night during the winter. In the high mountains there is snow and ice all year but a tropical climate prevails in the foothills. Monsoon period is June until September.
