The Selous Game Reserve is Africa's largest, covering 55,000 sq.kms of unspoilt wilderness and containing almost three quarters of a million wild animals including the world's largest elephant population.

Rufiji River camp is a tented camp situated in the north eastern part of the Selous on a high bank overlooking the mighty Rufiji River and the plain beyond. The camp accomodates guests in 20 very comfortable tents. Each tent has twin bed with mosquito nets, completely equipped private bathroom and comfortable verandah facing a magnificent view. The central restaurant provides excellent exotic and international cuisine. A well equipped bar gives the guests a wide choice of beverages.

Besides walking safaris and 4wd car excursions, a major attraction is the Boat Trip along the Rufiji RIver and the adjoining lakes where hippo, crocodile and 400 species of birds can be observed. Sport fishing facilities are available.
