At Footloose we pride ourself on
the personal service we offer a service backed up by
many years in the travel business and the very wide experience
of our staff.
|
|
|
The Footloose Travel world
service is made possible by a network of agents around
the world. These agents are chosen for their local knowledge
and high standards, as well as their understanding of
the sort of trips that Footloose travelers want.
When you travel with Footloose
your day-to-day contact will be with your guides and
porters. These are all local people, trained, experienced
and eager to pass on their love of their own countries
to you. We are pleased to say that this contact is often
reported back to us as a major factor in people's enjoyment
of their trip.

premises in the centre of Ilkley.
|
Roger Gook has spent a lifetime travelling
to remote parts of the world. He has organised and led adventure
treks in the Himalayas, climbing trips in the Andes, safaris
in East Africa, desert travel with the Bedouin in Egypt, jungle
trips in the Amazon and a lot of other trips in many other
countries. Roger used this experience to set up a major trekking
company nearly 25 years ago. Eleven years ago he took on another
challenge and yet another company was born, this time starting
in his spare room - Footloose Adventure Travel. Nowadays many
of his trips are spent sailing in various parts of the world.

Janet McDougall's career in business was becoming
severely disrupted by trips to interesting parts of the world.
Ten years ago, after a couple of trips with Footloose, she
took the sensible step of becoming one of the directors. Her
travels have taken her through the USA and Australia, overlanding
through Africa, trekking in Nepal and Europe, Kenya, Zanzibar,
Ethiopia, Costa Rica, Sweden and Iceland. She has climbed
Kilimanjaro five times and returned from Aconcagua with frost
nip in her big toe. In the last few years she has travelled
to Patagonia, Outer Mongolia and Namibia.

Susanne Muskita is Dutch and of Moluccan
origin. After studying journalism, she travelled all over
the world. She has worked as a tour guide on several continents
and has led trips as diverse as tiger safaris in India, hiking
in Alaska, cultural tours in Syria and Jordan and safaris
in Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia. Susanne loves her mountains
and has been to the summit of Kilimanjaro six times. Since
she joined Footloose five years ago, she has been to Kenya,
the Galapagos Islands, walked the GR20 in Corsica, Norway,
Borneo, the Alps and more recently to Aconcagua in Argentina
and Mera Peak in Nepal.

Richard Lowe is our financial controller. Although
originally from Lincolnshire, he runs the company like a real
Yorkshireman, when it comes to looking after the Footloose
pennies. Richard prefers to holiday in the UK and you can
often spot him along the river, with his flat cap and fishing
rod, listening to the cricket on the radio and watching the
trains go by.

Lesley Claxton is from London and proud
of it. She has been with Footloose for nearly eight years
now. She does all the administration and in her meticulous
way is able to spot any glitches in the bookings immediately.
Lesley has travelled to the Far East, Australia and the USA.
In the summer she tends to explore Europe with her daughter
and son. She recently went on a familiarisation trip to South
Africa and she has been on a family adventure to Slovenia
where she went rafting amongst other activities.
|
|
Caroline Pughe joined Footloose three years ago, and
is also a budding interior designer. When still at school
she toured the East Coast of the USA playing lacrosse competitions.
Her honeymoon was a backpacking trip through Thailand, Malaysia
and Singapore. Nowadays she spends her summers somewhere in
Europe with her active family or doing some kind of water
sport activity in the Lake District. Last year Caroline went
on a familiarisation trip to Sri Lanka.

Anne-Marie Bachelier-Webster has been
working for Footloose on and off for the last eight years.
Born and bred in South Africa, Anne-Marie moved to Yorkshire
in her teens. You can often find her on Ilkley Moor with her
boys - two bouncing Labradors. Apart from doing the administration,
Anne-Marie supplies the office on a weekly basis with cakes
and other munchies. She has been up Kilimanjaro, and travelled
to the USA, India, Australia, the Maldives, Kerala, Egypt
and Israel.

Pauline Williams is our latest addition to the Footloose
team. She is an ex-teacher and has changed the classroom for
the exciting office environment at Footloose. Pauline is in
charge of the brochures and helps out with the general administration.
She has travelled with Explore to the Adirondacks in New England
and her other ventures include travel through Australia, safari
in Kenya and skiing in Canada.
