TREKKING in BOLIVIA
The mountains of Bolivia offer some of the best trekking in South America. The capital, La Paz, is in a high valley and so most areas are easily accessible, making it ideal for short, high treks.

A TASTE OF THE ANDES - CONDORIRI (3 D/2 N)

DAY 1.La Paz / Condoriri Lagoon
Departure from La Paz in private transport crossing the highland to near Tuni Lagoon. The walk starts with flat trails right up to the foot of the Andes, then it starts to ascend until you find a lagoon at the foot of Mt. Condoriri. Camp at an elevation of 4,650 m. (B, L, D)

DAY 2. Condoriri Lagoon /Ancoma
A long day's walk, crossing two passes at 5,000 m and descending to the Pampa Leon canyon, until the Livinosa Lagoon. The walk continues to Ancona, situated in a small and beautiful valley, where you will camp at 3,800 m. (B, L, D)

DAY 3. Anacoma / Chacapampa /La Paz Half an hour walk going down to Chacapampa (3,550 m), a small village in the Zongo valley with a thermoelectric plant. Transport to return to La Paz. (B)

PRE-INCA TRAIL - THE CHORO (4 D/3 N)

DAY 1. La Paz / Challapampa
Departure from La Paz crossing the highland to reach The Summit, where you will start the walk climbing until the Chucura Pass (4,850 m) and then descend following the river, on a pre-Colombian path in very good condition passing through the villages of Chucura and Challapampa. Camp at 2,800 m. (B, L, D)

DAY 2. Challapampa / Sandillani
Walk on a good path, descending a steep, slippery slope, wet in places to The Choro (2,300 m). Cross the river, ideal for a cold bath. Continue the walk climbing and descending various hillsides and passing through Pabellonani and reaching Sandillani (2,100 m), a small farm belonging to a Japanese hermit, which has a beautiful view of the Yungas. (B, L, D)

DAY 3. Sandillani / Chairo / Río Selva Resort
Walk down a soft slope and continue on a zigzag path until the Chairo (1,300 m), a small village producing tropical fruit, on the banks of the Huarinilla River. Continue to the villages of Yolosa and Coroico. Arrival at the Rio Selva Resort (1,050 m). Overnight stay (B, L, D)

DAY 4. Río Selva Resort / La Paz
Rest in the resort hotel to recuperate your energy. Afternoon return to La Paz by transport. (B, L)


AYAMARA ORIGINS IN THE ANDES (7 D/6 N)

DAY 1. La Paz / Sorata
Departure from La Paz crossing the highland and a pass in the Andes at the foot of Mt. Illampu and Mt. Ancohuma. Descent from the valley to Sorata (2,568 m), a former colonial village. Overnight in hotel. (B, L, D)

DAY 2. Sorata / Ancohuma
Travel across the Andes range to the other side of Mt. Illampu through the Chuchu Pass (4,658 m), with impressive scenery. Descent following the course of the Tipuani River to the village of Ancohuma (3,784 m), where you will put up first camp. (B, L, D)

DAY 3. Ancohuma / Piedra Grande
Ascent of the right side to the Kochuahuasi Pass (4,479 m). After that descent of a steep valley to Cocoyo (3,512 m). Camp will be set up after the village. (B, L, D)

DAY 4. Piedra Grande / Chajolpaya
Ascent through the valley to the Sarani Pass (4,480 m), where you will have another lovely view of the Real mountain range and the Chiarhoco peak. Descent through a canyon that ends in Chajolpaya, an indigenous village full of beautiful local architecture. Camp on the other side of the canyon at the bottom of the mountain range which has a beautiful view of Mt. Regruni. (B, L, D)

DAY 5. Chajolpaya / Chullumpini
Ascent again to the Negruni pass (4,950 m), descending once more to the banks of a small lagoon, perfectly and harmonically located between the mountains at 4,400 m. (B, L, D)

DAY 6. Chullumpini / Piacuani
The trail continues to the Chekapkuchu canyon at the foot of the range with a steep slope to the Taypipata Pass (4,730 m). Continue through the main pass (4,780 m). Remote area of the Andes with scare population but a unique and beautiful preservation of its traditions can be observed throughout the walk. Descent to Piacuani Pampa at 4,280 m. (B, L, D)

DAY 7. Piacuani / Huarihuarini / La Paz
Ascent to the Putuputuni Lagoon (4,630 m), continue through the pass of Jankolakaya (4,700 m) and finally by that of Vinohuara at an elevation of 5,000 m. You will descend to the Huarihuarini valley found at 4,550 m. Transport for the return to La Paz. (B, L)
