NORTHERN HIGHLIGHTS

HIGHLIGHTS

· Climb up the world's highest sand dunes
· Visit the Okonjima cheetah sanctuary
· Drive through Etosha wildlife reserve
· See the shipwrecks on the Skeleton Coast

Beautiful desert scenery, and surprisingly, a huge amount of wildlife. You can track desert elephants in the north, watch seals on the Skeleton Coast and visit the cheetah project.

Day 1: Windhoek,
Arrive in Windhoek and spend the afternoon relaxing by the a pool

Day 2: Okonjima Main Camp,
Lion viewing, nature walks, cheetah & leopard tracking, and bushman walks.

Day 3: Namutoni, Etosha,
Game viewing by day or by night from floodlit waterholes.

Day 4: Okaukuejo, Etosha,
Spend today making your way slowly across the Park

Days 5&6: Grootberg Lodge,
Desert elephant, Black rhino and even lion occasionally ghosting an appearance.

Day 7: Twyfelfontein Country Lodge,
Take a look at the Petrified Forest, a bizarre collection of largely intact gymnosperm trees

Days 8&9: Sea Breeze Guest House, Swakopmund,
There are many adventure activities such as sand boarding, tandem parachuting, fishing & quad biking which can be arranged.

Day 10: Fly out of Windhoek

Best time: May to September is the coolest time


Flights - Air Namibia has a direct flight to Windhoek. British Airways and South African Airways via Capetown or Jo'burg can be used.


Extensions: - These trips can be added to the main tour:
CAPETOWN A few days can be spent in Capetown
VICTORIA FALLS If you are flying via Jo'burg, a visit to Victoria Falls can be added
