ACTIVITY GROUP TRIPS

CORDILLERA BLANCA & HUAYHUASH
16 days

Ref: TPC

A two-part trek with the finest views of the Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash ranges

In northern Peru lies the highest concentration of snow-capped peaks in the whole of the Andes. The Cordillera Blanca, the 'White Range', is the highest equatorial mountain range in the world, its snowy nevados providing fantastic alpine panoramas, including Peru's highest mountain, Huascaran (6798m). The Cordillera Huayhuash lies a little further south and has been made famous by Joe Simpson's book and the film 'Touching the Void'. We trek among the richly glaciated mountains in both these ranges and climb through beautiful sub-tropical valleys right up to the snow beside the peaks while enjoying unparalleled mountain views.

The Rainbow Centre, Kiya Survivors
Kiya Survivors is a registered Peruvian charity providing safe and loving educational and rehabilitation centres for children with special needs. It is the first school dedicated to special-needs children in the Sacred Valley and now 40 children attend regularly. Since the centre opened, Kiya has provided support to over 200 children as well as providing help on many social issues to other members of the local communities in which it works. Kiya Survivors at the Rainbow Centre is available to visit on almost all
