South Africa and its neighbour Swaziland are rich in wildlife and have a huge variety of landscapes. We experience the wildlife in the world famous Kruger National Park and Hlane Game Reserve. As we travel through Mpumalanga Province with its panoramic passes, viewpoints, mountains, valleys, waterfalls and forests we will learn about the history of this region and the battles that have taken place. We also experience its vibrant culture by staying in a traditional Swazi village in grass huts, and visiting the Zulu national hero's village before finishing our journey with a few days at the St Lucia Wetlands, the largest estuarine water body in Africa, and the beautiful beaches of the Natal North Coast.

Itinerary

Day 1 Depart London.
Day 2 Arrive Johannesburg; afternoon free to relax or optional Soweto tour.
Day 3 To Mpumalanga Province and historic town of Graskop. En route we visit the guns at Longtom Pass; picnic and swim at Creek Falls before visiting the impressive Mac Mac Falls.
Day 4 Morning visit to God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes and Blyde River Canyon before we continue to Swadini Reptile Park for guided tour.
Day 5 Visit Moholoholo Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre; drive to Kruger National Park.
Day 6 Morning and afternoon game drives with time to relax at the campsite pool.
Day 7 Morning game drive; to Hlane Game Reserve in Swaziland. Evening viewing at waterhole.
Day 8 Morning game walk (optional) or game drive; to Mantenga Nature Reserve where we stay in a traditional Swazi village.
Day 9 To the Greater St Lucia Wetlands.
Day 10 Boat tour on Lake St Lucia; afternoon visit crocodile farm and a short walk through the sand dune forest.
Day 11 To the King of the Zulu's royal kraal for guided tour through fascinating Zulu village; to Natal North Coast.
Day 12 Free day to relax on beach.
Day 13 Free day or optional day trips to Ishaka Marine World or to see dolphins.
Day 14 Morning free; late afternoon depart Durban.
Day 15 Arrive London.

The family trips are designed to appeal to children with lots of varied activities. There are usually 4 - 6 families and they work well for single parents. Many of the groups have special teenage dates, so please ask for these.

All prices include air fares from London.
