INSURANCE:
Insurance is essential to cover both small and large mishaps while
you are abroad. Problems may range from losing your bag or visiting
the dentist to a full scale search and rescue in the Himalaya. For
a serious medical problem in USA the cost can easily rise to £30,000.
Another aspect of insurance which is often overlooked is cover for
cancellation - if you break your leg on the day before departure
on a £5000 holiday it is painful in more than one way!
It is a condition of booking with Footloose that you are adequately
insured and provide Footloose with details of your insurance policy.
It is essential that your insurance company should be aware of the
type of trip you are undertaking. Insurance must cover you fully
against repatriation costs should you become too ill to continue
with the tour and it is essential that you are covered for evacuation
from remote regions should the need arise.

The Travel Trust offers insurance online.

For specialist cover, including climbing, trekking and other adventure
sports, you may wish to have a look at Campbell
Irvine.
