Welcome to our latest news. You'll
see that our programme is expanding and includes some very
special ideas for your trips. As always, more possibilities
have been found and so this update gives you the very latest
information.
Mali: Festival in the Desert Tours
Mali's music and Tuareg culture festival in the desert is
one-of-a-kind, modelled on traditional gatherings and celebrations
of the Tuareg people, the "Blue Men of the Desert."
Footloose is now able to offer tours to the festival, taking
place in January 2006.
Middle East & Central Asia
Footloose is now able to offer tours in cunjunction with a
leading specialist in travel to the Middle East, North Africa,
Caucasus, Central Asia and Far East. You can now spend time
touring the Silk Road cities of Samarkand and Bukhara (Uzbekistan),
and admiring the archaeological sites of Petra (Jordan) or
Persepolis (Iran). Other destinations include Lebanon, Syria,
Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan
and Mongolia. Please contact us for more details.
Film crews
We are making all the arrangements for two film crews at the
moment. One is heading to Mali to film musicians and the other
is trying to catch the Northern Lights in Iceland for Imax.
Tanzanian connection
Footloose can organize an interesting route linking the Kilimanjaro
area, with its walks and safaris, with Zanzibar. This is our
most popular trip and we have organised hundreds of people
in scores of variations, making just about every combination
of trek, safari and beach that's possible. Just pick your
trek, your game park and a beach hotel and we'll give you
ideas for an economical and interesting way of enjoying them.
Safaris
Footloose has probably the largest range of tailor-made safari
itineraries available anywhere.
Ethiopia
At last peace has been restored in this wonderful country
but it needs all the help you can give. Footloose continues
to organise trips there as the Historical Cities and the Simien
mountains are not affected. The people are desperate for visitors
as a way of getting money into the country and to show that
they are not forgotten. We have a special trek in the Simiens
departing 24th October.
Vietnam
We have an excellent agent here and can organise all tailor-made
itineraries.
Nepal
We have standard itineraries for the more popular areas such
as Annapurna and Everest Base Camp, together with ideas for
treks to other areas. Any itinerary can be tailor made for
any number of people. Rafting and visits to Chitwan can be
included. Ring now for more information.
Kilimanjaro
As well as our tailor-made trips to Kilimanjaro we are organizing
two small groups to climb this mountain departing 25 September
and 23 October. We will use the Machame route, probably the
best route for views and acclimatization (with an extra day
included). The cost is £850. Please ring for details.
Chile
We now have good links with an adventure company in Chile.
Ask for details of their great range of treks.
Jordan
Our first trip to Jordan has just returned and gave a glowing
account of both the country and the service and attention
they received.
India
Footloose has a long association with India and is pleased
to be able to offer an extremely wide range of adventure and
cultural trips throughout this fascinating country. The itineraries
range from treks and climbs in the Himalayas to biking, rafting
and riding holidays and to more gentle trips in the south.
They are all available on any date for a minimum of two people.
Malawi
Janet has just returned from a research trip to Malawi and
is full of enthusiasm for this unvisited country. It's an
excellent place for trekking and lake adventures with good
facilities and lodges. Ask for details.
