The most popular way to visit New Zealand is
to hire a car or a camper van, which will give you the flexibility to
go where you please. The walking in the mountains of South Island is world
famous. Many of the well-known tracks get busy and so have to be pre-booked,
but there are many other places to try. There is also climbing, surfing,
whale-watching and skiing if you want to get away from the British
summer! North Island is more gentle, but with the surreal volcanic landscapes,
amazing coastline, tropical forest and cultural interest to complement
the South.
